Epicrispr Biotechnologies Raises $90M Series C to Advance Epigenetic CRISPR Therapy for FSHD

| CRISPR

Epicrispr Biotechnologies secured $90 million in oversubscribed Series C financing, co-led by Octagon Capital and Janus Henderson Investors with participation from Fidelity Management & Research, Cormorant Asset Management, Duquesne Family Office, and Sanofi Ventures. The round follows a $68 million Series B raised 16 months earlier and will fund advancement of EPI-321 — an AAV-delivered epigenetic editor that uses CRISPR-derived tools to silence the toxic DUX4 gene without cutting DNA — toward pivotal studies for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). Interim Phase 1/2 data from three evaluable participants, roughly six months after a single IV infusion, showed gains of 0.5–1.3 pounds of lean muscle mass; enrollment and dose escalation in the trial completed in early July 2026, with additional clinical data expected later in the year.
