De la Espriella Names Transportation and Justice Ministers

President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella appointed Elsa Noguera — an economist and former Mayor of Barranquilla and Governor of Atlántico who represents the Char political clan and Radical Change party — as Transportation Minister, and criminal defense attorney Iván Cancino as Justice Minister. The appointments bring the incoming cabinet to six confirmed ministers: Rodrigo Lara (Interior), Miguel Gómez (Finance), Viviane Morales (Education), Fabio Arjona (Environment), Noguera (Transportation), and Cancino (Justice). Noguera said 'a good transition is not measured by the number of meetings, but by the incoming government's capacity to govern from day one with complete, timely and truthful information.'
