Unitree Robotics Prices Shanghai IPO at $9 Billion Valuation, Becoming Mainland China's First Listed Humanoid-Robot Maker

| China Tech

Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics priced its Shanghai STAR Market IPO at 150.8 yuan (~$22.34) per share on August 6, implying a valuation of roughly 61 billion yuan (~$9.04 billion) and raising about 6.1 billion yuan (~$904 million) from the sale of 40.45 million new shares — 10% of its enlarged share capital — Bloomberg and CNBC reported. The listing makes Unitree the first humanoid-robot maker to go public on a mainland Chinese exchange. DeepSeek participated as a strategic investor in the offering. Unitree's 2025 revenue surged more than 300% to roughly 1.7 billion yuan as humanoid robots overtook quadruped robots as its primary revenue driver, though Q1 2026 adjusted profit fell 52.6% on higher R&D and marketing spending. Founder and CEO Wang Xingxing, 36, became China's first humanoid-robot billionaire on the strength of the offering. The retail tranche of the IPO drew more than 8,000x oversubscription when it opened August 10, underscoring investor enthusiasm for China's humanoid-robotics wave alongside the CXMT and Moore Threads AI-chip IPOs.
