EU Imposes 35% Tariffs on Chinese EVs After Investigation

| China Tech

The European Commission imposes additional tariffs of up to 35.3% on Chinese electric vehicles, on top of the existing 10% duty, following a year-long anti-subsidy investigation. BYD faces 17% additional tariff, Geely 19%, and SAIC 35.3%. China immediately challenges the tariffs at the WTO and threatens retaliatory measures on European luxury goods, cognac, and dairy products. Several EU member states including Germany vote against the tariffs, fearing Chinese retaliation.
