YMTC and 35 More Chinese Firms Added to Entity List

The US adds Yangtze Memory Technologies Corporation (YMTC), China's leading NAND flash memory producer, to the Entity List along with 35 other Chinese entities. YMTC had been Apple's planned supplier for iPhone NAND chips, but Apple drops the talks following US government pressure. The action cuts YMTC off from ASML, Applied Materials, and other equipment needed for next-generation 3D NAND production.
