Ceuta Day Protests End in Far-Right Riot Outside Congress; RTVE Journalists Attacked Nationwide

Tens of thousands rally nationwide in solidarity with Ceuta on the city's Día de Ceuta holiday, including an estimated 50,000 at Madrid's Plaza de Cibeles where PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Vox's Santiago Abascal appear together. As the Madrid rally winds down around 9:20pm, roughly 50 uniformed members of the neo-Nazi group Núcleo Nacional clash with police outside Congress, throwing bottles and chairs; National Police respond with charges, tear gas and rubber bullets, arresting four demonstrators (two minors) and injuring four officers. Throughout the day, RTVE reporters and camera crews covering the Madrid, Ceuta and Barcelona concentrations are shoved, kicked and nearly headbutted while live on air; RTVE president José Pablo López says 'attacking reporters is dynamiting democracy.' Madrid's government delegate Francisco Martín says 'violence is never the way and those who daily incite it are also responsible.'
