FDA Approves Atezolizumab Plus Chemotherapy for Stage III dMMR Colon Cancer

On October 8, 2026 the FDA approved atezolizumab (Tecentriq) with a fluoropyrimidine and oxaliplatin as adjuvant treatment for stage III mismatch repair-deficient colon cancer, based on the NCI-sponsored phase 3 ATOMIC trial (disease-free survival HR 0.50, 95% CI 0.35-0.73). It is the first immunotherapy-based adjuvant option for this population. The subcutaneous Tecentriq Hybreza was also approved for patients 12 and older weighing at least 40 kg.
