New Fire (Thunder Bay 89) Confirmed in Pigeon River Provincial Park

Ontario's Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services confirmed one new fire, Thunder Bay 89 (THU089), in Pigeon River Provincial Park about 42 km south of Thunder Bay near the Canada-US border, as of 5:51 p.m. CDT Sept 22. The fire was not under control at 0.1 hectares. It pushed the Northwest Region's active count to 30 (1 not under control, 9 under control, 20 being observed), continuing a season that otherwise keeps easing into fall.
