BC Declares Province-Wide State of Emergency; Civilian Dies Fleeing Bald Range Fire

British Columbia declared a province-wide state of emergency as over 100 wildfires burned and more than 21,000 people evacuated. An 80-year-old woman died attempting to flee the Bald Range fire — the season's fifth confirmed death.
