Lara Proposes Paz as a Witness in the Cerimedo Case, Challenges Him to a Face-to-Face
Vice President Edmand Lara announced he will formally propose President Rodrigo Paz as a witness before the Public Ministry in the Cerimedo investigation, so Paz can state under oath what he knows about the disputed audio recordings and his relationship with Cerimedo. Lara said he is "willing to a confrontation [careo] with the president, face to face, for him to tell me it's a lie that Fernando Cerimedo was his advisor," and said he personally witnessed Cerimedo giving orders and instructions to ministers in two cabinet meetings. Paz has not accepted the challenge; he previously said he would leave the disputed audio to the justice system to evaluate.
