Bolivia and IMF Reach $1.9B Staff-Level Agreement

The IMF and Bolivian authorities reached a staff-level agreement on a 36-month, roughly $1.9 billion Extended Fund Facility aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability, rebuilding reserves, and cutting fiscal and external imbalances. The Fund said the deal could unlock more than $5 billion in additional financing from the World Bank and IDB. It still required IMF Executive Board and Bolivian Congress approval, with no funds yet disbursed.
