Paz Declares 90-Day State of Emergency

On the 50th day of protests, President Paz declared a 90-day nationwide state of emergency and ordered the military to clear remaining roadblocks. More than 200 heavily armed police were deployed to El Alto; the La Paz–Oruro highway was cleared within hours.
