ITU Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Vietnam — AI Skills for Southeast Asian Youth

The ITU AI for Good initiative hosted its Robotics for Good Youth Challenge in Vietnam on April 18, part of a global tour building AI and robotics skills among young people in developing and emerging economies. Vietnam has emerged as a growing AI hub in Southeast Asia, with national government investment in digital infrastructure and AI education as strategic priorities. Youth participants tackled challenges applying AI-powered robotics to problems in precision agriculture, environmental monitoring, and accessible technology — domains where Vietnam faces real development challenges including coastal flooding vulnerability and smallholder farming dependence. The event connects young Vietnamese innovators to the global AI for Good network, providing access to mentorship, technical resources, and the broader community of youth AI practitioners working on humanitarian and development challenges worldwide.
