TTP Suicide Car Bomb Kills 12 at Police Checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan

A suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a roadside police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least 12 people and wounding about 35, mostly security personnel and passersby including two women and a child. Gunmen then fired on an ambulance carrying victims, killing a rescue worker and wounding two others. The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed responsibility. The attack came as Islamabad and Kabul trade accusations over cross-border militancy.
