Jamaat-ul-Ahrar VBIED and Gun Attack on Karachi Rangers Camp Kills 3

| Afghanistan War

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a TTP splinter faction, detonated a vehicle-borne IED at the gate of a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Karachi, on June 27, 2026, then opened fire on the compound. Three Rangers personnel were killed and four wounded; security forces killed three attackers and captured one alive — an Afghan national. DG ISPR confirmed the attack, attributing it to 'Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.' The Karachi attack — far from the Durand Line border zone — became the proximate trigger for Pakistan's major June 28-29 retaliatory strikes into Afghan territory.
