PICSS: Pakistan Records 35% Drop in Terrorist Fatalities in March as Op Ghazab Delivers Security Gains

| Afghanistan War

The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) published data showing a 35% decline in terrorism-related fatalities in Pakistan in March 2026 compared to February, coinciding with the launch of Operation Ghazab-il-Haq. Overall combat and terrorism deaths fell from 506 (February) to 331 (March). Terror incidents declined 59% nationally, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa specifically seeing a 65% drop from 240 incidents in February to 80 in March. Civilian fatalities fell approximately 70%, from 132 to 39. Pakistan's government cited these statistics as evidence that the cross-border military campaign was achieving its stated objective of suppressing TTP attacks on Pakistani territory, pushing back on international criticism of the operations.
