Pakistan's military said security forces killed 15 Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) militants during a 36-hour engagement after intercepting a group attempting to cross into North Waziristan district from Afghanistan on the night of August 31-September 1, 2026. ISPR said the infiltrators were part of an 'India-sponsored' force and that large quantities of weapons and ammunition were recovered during subsequent sanitization operations; no Pakistani security force casualties were reported. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the forces for reducing the 'impure intentions of the terrorists to dust.'
